A Little Background:
Canada puts the “north” in North America.
It’s made up of 10 provinces and 3 territories.
Can you name them? (Answers Here)
Canada is the second-largest country (by mass) in the world but has a population that is about equal to California’s. That’s because much of the land is in the far north where it’s too cold for most people to want to live.
But not all of Canada is cold. Most of the population is clustered around the US border, in the southern part of each province. Temperatures there are pretty much the same as the northern US states. Canadians enjoy the four seasons in all their glory.
Canada is an independent country with strong ties to Britain. They are a parliamentary democracy, the leader of whom is the Prime Minister.
There are two official languages, English and French. Most people speak English daily. The majority of people who speak French as their first language, live in the province of Quebec, although there are ‘Francophone’ communities across the country. Children are taught both languages in school.
Canada is a developed country with an ethnically diverse population. It has one of the highest standards of living in the world. It is also known for the natural beauty of its scenery, from coast to coast.
Epcot’s Canada celebrates the beauty of Canada, and its proud history.
