Right behind Mickey's Sorcerer Hat you'll find the main attraction of Hollywood Boulevard - "The Great Movie Ride" The Great Movie Ride The exterior of the building is a replica of Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, California – with one exception. The ticket booth is located on the opposite side.
Once you’re through the doors, there’s usually a long line that moves pretty quickly. While you’re waiting, you can look at costumes and props from some of your favorite movies in the outer room, and watch classic movie clips on the big screen inside.
This ride provides a guided tour through famous movie scenes from “Casablanca” to “The Wizard of Oz.” You’ll learn the inside scoop about some of the greatest flicks ever made and be party to a modern drama as well. Tip: Try to sit up front with the tour guide. The guides are very helpful. They’ll answer your questions during pauses in their rap and help you find the Hidden Mickeys, if you ask. Plus – you’ll get front row action that you won’t want to miss.
Fun Fact: The airplane you see in the “Casablanca” scene is real. The other half is part of the “Jungle Cruise” set in the Magic Kingdom.
Grauman’s Chinese Theater Trivia
For a few years, Graumann’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood was called Mann’s Chinese Theater after This famous movie theater is one of the best-known landmarks in southern California. Many movie premieres and Hollywood parties have take place there. The Academy Awards ceremony has even been held there (twice!) But most people know it because generations of Hollywood starts and starlets have left their foot and palm prints in the cement walkway outside its doors.
Cool Details
During this ride, you become involved in a drama that has 2 possible storylines. One involves gangsters, the other has a cowboy theme. If you have a preference, you can ask the Cast Member that’s loading the ride (prior to boarding) to direct you to the version you’d like to experience.
