Future World: Mission Space

This is one of the most talked about attractions at Disney World.  It also has the most “Don’t ride this attraction if …” warnings.

Mission Space puts you on a shuttle headed for Mars. You are one of four crew members and will be a position (Commander, Pilot, Navigator & Engineer) and assigned a job for the flight.

You have 2 choices for how to ride:
Orange: The “full experience” puts you on in a giant centrifuge that spins so quickly, you aren’t aware of the spinning motion.  What you feel experience is billed as “weightlessness,” but feels like extraordinary pressure against your body.  It takes a great deal of effort to raise your hand or turn your head, during this experience.  Some people (including me) find it very uncomfortable.

Green: Fortunately, Disney also provides a Mission Space option that doesn’t include spinning.

When you join the queue for the ride you'll be asked to choose which experience you prefer.

After the ride:
You'll enter a playground that features all kinds of fun and games with the "space" theme. Don't be in too big a rush. There's lots of fun to be had!

Tip: Young children cannot ride due to the 44" height restriction. There's a great playground in the area under the ride.  You can enter through the gift shop and wait for your astronauts there.
