Description: Fun for the Whole Family

Disney Trivia
At the end of the ride, the pirates behind bars are trying to coax the dog to bring them the keys. One of these pirates looks like Sid Caesar.

The Imagineers often created characters in their own likenesses and to look like special people in their lives. Sid was the friend of one of the Imagineers and a frequent visitor to Disneyland. His face on a pirate was Disney’s version of a joke and, of course, a great honor.

Magic Kingdom Attractions:
Pirates of the Caribbean

This newly refurbished ride is another Disney staple. You board your ship and head out onto treacherous seas where you’re attacked by pirates and witness all kinds of no good.

As always, Disney attends to every detail. (Notice the hairs on the leg of the pirate who's sitting on the bridge your ship passes under.)

Jack Sparrow is so realistic that Johnny Deppe declared "This is Capt. Jack" when he 'met' him.  He said it was "spooky" to see his double and that the work of the Imagineers was "utterly amazing!"

Money Saving Tip:

The ride empties into a souvenir shop full of pirate booty. If you have would-be-pirates in your crew, you can save big bucks by making a trip to the Dollar Store before you go. Many carry pirate-type head scarves, plastic swords and even spyglasses!

Pirate Show (and a Free Souvenir):

There's a new pirate show outside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. (Check your Times Guide for times.)

Captain Jack and a crewman recruit apprentice pirates from the audience. The show is a lot of fun and apprentice pirates receive a special bonus at the end of the show!

Lyrics of the Pirate Song

Yo Ho. Yo Ho, a pirate’s life for me!
We’re beggars and blighters,
Ne’er-do-well cads -
Drink up me ’earties, Yo Ho.
Eye, but we’re loved by our
Mommies and dads
Drink up, me ‘earties,Yo Ho.
