Many of the ideas for the attractions in Tomorrowland were conceived by Disney’s Imagineers for The New York World’s Fair in 1964. They were incredibly futuristic at the time.
This area was generally overhauled in 1995 and some rides have been added and altered since. It is not as busy as other areas of the Magic Kingdom.
The Carousel of Progress remains because it was one of Walt’s favorites. The audience moves around 6 central stages. One of the animated characters on the stage talks about how things around the house change over the course of about 100 years. This attraction was way ahead of its time when it was conceived but a little dated now.
Still – we enjoy it. It’s a quiet, family-friendly ride.
